Comment by Roberto Kaplan on November 14, 2011 at 9:13 A message from David Charles to all members of Reduced Lens Prescription Group on EyeCode®!
Dear Roberto,
I am starting with your vision-improvement program and I know you recommend to reduce the power of both myopia and astigmatism equally so I would appreciate if you can help me to find out my vision-fitness prescription
I am 40 years old, no presbyopia so far, and my current 20/20 prescription is as follows:
Right: -3 -2 axis 145
Left: -5 -1.25 axis 050
If I only reduce myopia, maintaining the whole astigmatism, I have found out that I can see 20/40 approximately with a +1 spherical correction. Could you tell me how to reduce myopia and astigmatism equally in order to still get to 20/40?
Secondly, I work with computers intensively and I have already cut-down my myopia prescription for this activity with a +1,5 spherical correction, as I have realized that I still can see the letters in the screen comfortably. Should I reduce astigmatism also for this activity? How much reduction for this?
I would appreciate your feedback
Best regards,
David Charles
Thanks David for your question. A difficult one to answer from the EyeCode® perspective. Let me first give you a purely logical physical response. You have already accomplished the two main objectives with the lens prescriptions you have. What you can do is reduce the astigmatism by about +0.50 in each eye and between +0.75 and +1.00 on the spherical part.
Now for the more difficult part. Since your astigmatism axis is diagonal, there is a real important need to keep the meridians opposite this astigmatism in focus if you wish to attend to the real cause of the unclearness associated with astigmatism. I cannot comment much more than that in this forum. It would be best for you to send me Iris photos to decode, and then have a personal session on the phone or Skype. Perhaps also visit these links: http://www.eyecode.info/main/search/search?q=astigmatism

Also, can the EyeCode program be used without relying on a pair of glasses?
Thanks...

Comment by Callie on February 16, 2011 at 8:01 Well, if the shape of the frames has a bearing, how do I learn which is best for me?
I don't understand.
What is recommended?
