The way our eyes work is all about perception!

Don't believe me, look at this photo and each of you tell me what you see, what you think it is, what you feel and even let your emotional part speak what you are directed to say. Make comments and when there are enough, I will disclose the answer.  The first person to guess what it is wins a prize. (To be announced)

Here is the photo:

Getting close. It is the retina. Actually the macula area is where the missing piece is.

The other possibilty is that it's the different layers of the eye from the cornea to the retina without the tubes and muscles generally added in pictures of the eyeball.

Well Elaine and Izzy, we are at least at the level of the eye now. No, it is inside of the eye. More guesses. The idea of this exercise is to stimulate your creativity and imagination, which is invaluable for improving vision.

Duh! Of course!  It's a closed eyelid.  What throws me is the slight part in the middle that looks like it's curved inward.  I would also suggest that it's the right eye.

Waiting for some more guesses. No one is even close yet! Tip. Think eyes!

I get the idea from the bottom of the photo that there is a waterfall with a mist. Also, in the center, a small boat coming at you, breaking the waves. Am I on to something, Roberto?

Strange photo. First glance appeared to be a landscape to me - the side of a cliff up against a body of water. The center of the photo has an indent in it that is drawing a blank within me. I have no idea what I'm looking at. It's as if I'm seeing it for the first time! The photo also reminds me of a person's lips; however, I don't think that's what I'm looking at, either. I really have no idea what I'm looking at! The more I examine the photo, the more uneasy I become. I feel like I should know exactly what it is, but I can't pinpoint it! I can relate certain images to things I've seen in the past - but it doesn't make sense for them to be in this picture. I think I'm beginning to see something here now... if I were to take a guess as to what this picture really is... Using my imagination (since this is the first time I've seen something like this), when I try to envision what a closed eyelid may look like, with no eyelashes, I see exactly what's in this photo. So, if I were to guess, I would say that this is an up close photo of a closed right eyelid. Wow! That feeling of un-ease has left me. I don't know 100% if I'm correct about what the photo is of, but I feel good about it. Thanks for the lesson, Roberto! Can't wait to hear what the photo is of!

It also could be a sandwich.

Nice tries Maria and Elaine. But not correct.  This exercise is to show how our perceptions are based on experience we have had in the past, and then we project this onto the new view through our eyes. The EyeCode® suggests, that we have to use our past experience to build new views for the present and future.
